The Batters' Box philosophy is all about having fun playing the great game of baseball and instilling the fundamentals of the game.
Our coaching staff prides itself on unique training techniques, learned - with years of experience, both playing and coaching. We strive to win; coach to win, teach to win and try to win every game-yet winning is not our overall objective.
Our overall objective as a coaching staff-and as parents, is to present the game of baseball to our players in such a way that they take away not only the mechanical and mental fundamentals of the game, but the fundamentals of team sports and personal character.
We hope the lesson learned “between the base lines” are not only those lessons that can be applied on the field for years to come, as the player develops athletically- but in lessons and experiences that build a young player’s character for the rest of their life.
Code of Conduct
The Metro Elite Sports/Batters' Box Code of Conduct is strict and serious in our sport. All people associated with the game are always expected to act with sportsmanship, dignity and respect for others. This includes coaches, parents, players and umpires.
Poor sportsmanship includes:
•Arguing with coaches, officials, teammates, opponents or spectators
•Using threatening or profane language
•Baiting or taunting coaches, officials, teammates, opponents or spectators
•Uncontrolled behavior in the bench area
Any player, manager, coach, fan or team guilty of conduct such as described above is subject to being removed immediately from the current game as the coach or umpire sees fit.
Poor sportsmanship will carry, at a minimum, the following consequences:
• First Offense Verbal warning
• Second Offense Dismissal from the game
• Third Offense Dismissal from the next game
• Fourth Offense Dismissal from the team
The Coach/Manager is responsible for the conduct of their players and followers of the team.
We, parent(s) and player, have discussed the Metro Elite Sports/Batters' Box Code of Conduct and agree to abide by it. We understand that there is no refund or recourse for dismissal from our program as a consequence of breaking this Code of Conduct.
